by Abu Bakr embodied the teachings of the Quran in many ways. His desire to please Allah was first and foremost in his thoughts. An example of his noble actions was to spend of his wealth for self purification, by releasing the oppressed Muslims in the community.
Allah says in Surat Al-Layl,[1]
˹The righteous˺ who donate ˹some of˺ their wealth only to purify themselves,
﴾ الَّذِي يُؤْتِي مَالَهُ يَتَزَكَّىٰ ﴿
not in return for someone’s favours,
﴾ وَمَا لِأَحَدٍ عِندَهُ مِن نِّعْمَةٍ تُجْزَىٰ ﴿
but seeking the pleasure of their Lord, the Most High.
﴾ إِلَّا ابْتِغَاءَ وَجْهِ رَبِّهِ الْأَعْلَىٰ ﴿
They will certainly be pleased.
﴾ وَلَسَوْفَ يَرْضَىٰ ﴿
Freed from Bondage
Abu Bkkar freed seven slaves in the early days of Islam.[2]
