by Sakhr ibn Harb (Arabic: صخر بن حرب) also known as Abu Sufyan ibn Harb (Arabic: أبو سفيان بن حرب) was the leader of Banu Umayyah during the life time of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ).

Response To Islam
Sakhr along with Al-Walid, Abu Lahab, and Abu Jahl lead the opposition against Islam. Like Al-Walid, Abu Sufyan, was a man of dignity and self respect who opposed the message of the Prophet (ﷺ), but never resorted to undignified acts of violence or abuse.
Acceptance of Islam
Abu Sufyan lead the opposition against the Prophet (ﷺ) until the Conquest of Makkah. It was at this time he embraced Islam.
